Please note the next In-Service Training Day is Thursday 07 December. The school will also be closed on Friday 08 December, as it is a religious holiday.

School Calendar
Group Photographs for the class calendars will take place this Monday 27 November. This is a fundraising event, run by the Parents Association every year. Individual class calendars are created and can be purchased for €5 each. Can you please ensure that your child is in full uniform on the day, NO TRACKSUITS ON MONDAY 27 NOVEMBER. Children who usually do PE on Monday should wear their runners in order to take part in their PE session.

Sponsored Walk
It's never too late to send in Sponsored Walk money! So if you have not yet sent it in, please drop it into the main office as soon as possible. The total so far is in excess of €9,000. A sincere thank you to all who supported this event.

Vision & Hearing Tests (Senior Infants only)
A consent form was sent home with your child on Monday of this week. Please note that the form should be returned by Tuesday 28 November whether you wish your child to be tested or not.

Book Club
The 3rd Class Book Club will meet in the library at lunch next Thursday, 30 November. This month, we will be chatting about "Stanley and the Magic Lamp" by Jeff Brown.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
We have had a great response to the Book Fair. Thank you to everyone who supported it and a huge thanks to the Parents who helped run it this year. The school earns commission from every book sold and this is used to expand the school library and the individual classroom libraries.

Palestrina Choir
Congratulations to Nathan Phipps-O'Neill in 3rd Class on becoming a member of the Palestrina Choir, St Mary's Pro Cathedral, Dublin. The choir recently launched their new CD "Bells of the Angelus" and they also featured on "Nationwide" on RTE 1 on Wednesday 15 November. Well done Nathan.

Green Schools
The following is a list of class representatives on the St Patrick's Green School Committee:

Darragh Hewson Shannon Hegarty Luke McCann Patrick Hoban
Sarah Gallagher Robert McCormack Ethan Murphy Maeve Ryan
Ardena Barisha Molly Murphy-O'Kane Adrianna Dembrek Lisa Byrne
Paul Donohoe Adam Cleary.

Recently the committee held their second meeting. Since there are only two dates left in the year when the school can apply for a green flag - 01 December and 01 March - it was decided that we would aim to be ready for 01 March 2007. Our main focus over the next few months will be on reducing litter and waste both in the school building and in our immediate surroundings. With everybody's help, we can achieve our goal!

School Milk
There has been a good response to the proposed subsidised school milk scheme. There is a fridge in place for this now and it is hoped to start the scheme next term. Payment will be required in advance. More details will follow shortly.
