In Service Training/Staff Meeting
Please note the next In-Service Training Day is Thursday 07 December. The school will also be closed on Friday 08 December, as it is a religious holiday.
The next Staff Meeting will take place on Monday 11 December. Children will therefore finish at 12.00pm sharp on Monday 11 December.

School Photographs
As per the note you received on Monday, the School Photographer will be in the school on 04, 05 and 06 December. We would ask that all children wear their FULL SCHOOL UNIFORM (NO TRACKSUITS PLEASE) on those days. If they have PE/After School Activities on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, they may wear runners. It is a good idea to put a hairbrush/comb into the schoolbag.

Procedures for Dropping Children to School

• People may stop momentarily adjacent to the Bus parking area to drop off children.
• Please move as far up as possible on that stretch so that six or seven cars can drop off at the same time.
• For their safety, children should be dropped only on the school side of the road and should exit the car onto the footpath, not onto the road.
• Please do not stop on the roundabout.
• Please also note that parents are not permitted to park in the Staff Car Park when dropping or collecting children. If you are returning to the school to drop off forgotten lunches, schoolbags, etc., we would ask that you park in the bus stop area and enter via the Pedestrian Gate.

Speed Limit
Please note that the legal speed limit from the main road to the school building is 15km per hour. Persons exceeding this are putting the lives of our school children at risk.

Birthdays
As per pg 24 of the Junior Infant School Booklet (pg 12 of the Senior Children's School Booklet), we would ask that if your child is having a birthday party and inviting some classmates, that invitations be given out in the school yard and not in the classroom. In order to be sensitive to the feelings of children who are not being invited, perhaps you could give the invitation to the parent and not the child. Teachers are not permitted to distribute invitations. Please also note that sweets should not be sent into the class for distribution on your child's birthday.

Scooters/Bicycles
There have been a number of incidences whereby scooters and bicycles have been taken in error. In order to avoid more upsets, we would suggest that you put your child's name on his/her property.

Meetings with Teachers
If you need to speak to your child's class teacher for any reason, Andrea or Bernadette will be happy to set up an appointment for you.

St Patrick's Pupils on TV and in the Charts!
Four pupils from St. Patrick's appear on TV next week! Ben Fitzpatrick, Conor, Sean & Chris McMahon sing on "Tinsel And Marzipan" by "Pugwash And Friends", (apart from Ben, Conor, Sean & Chris, the other friends include Neil Hannon from the Divine Comedy who wrote the theme music to Father Ted!). The single is released on Friday December 8th and you can find it in Virgin & HMV in the Blanchardstown Shopping Centre. It's priced at €2.99 and all proceeds go to the Brainwave Trust (http://www.epilepsy.ie). Pugwash, Neil Hannon (helped by Ben, Conor, Sean & Chris) will appear on the Ryan Tubridy RTE TV Show on Saturday December 9th. Don't miss it and listen out for the song on 2FM, RTE1, 98FM and FM104 this week.

Extra Curricular Activities
Basketball
Due to the huge demand for basketball last term, there will be 3 lists, 1 for each class, placed on the Parent Information Notice Board next week. Monday's class is for 3rd and 4th Class children, Tuesday's class is for 1st and 2nd and Wednesday's class will be for 3rd and 4th. If there are more children on the lists than places, a lottery will take place to fill the classes.
