Staff Meeting
A Staff Meeting will take place on Monday 08 November.
All children will go home at 12.00noon.
Junior Infants September 2011
Application Forms are available from the office from Monday 04 October onwards.  Registration will take place on 15, 16 and 17 November 2010.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Tuesday 09 November to Friday 12 November.  Feel free to call in at dropping off (08.30am-9.00am) and collection times (1.00pm – 2.30pm) to browse through the selection available.  This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping!  The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help to stock the school library.  A limited number of leaflets are available from beside the Parent Information Notice Board.  From last year’s experience, may we please ask that you Enter only via the Main Entrance and Exit only via the Blanchardstown Door?  This will ensure a smooth flow of people through the Book Fair area which is quite tight.

Parent/Teacher Meetings
Parent/Teacher Meetings will take place on 23, 24 and 25 November between 2.20pm and 4.00pm.  Appointment details to follow. 

“Be Safe, Be Seen” Poster Competition
Fingal Poster Competition to design an A4 poster using the catch phrase “Be Safe, Be Seen” and win a little prize.  The competition is open to children from 2nd to 6th classes.  Entries are to be submitted by Friday 19 November.  Posters will be collected from Classrooms.  Please remember to write your NAME, TEACHER and CLASSROOM on the back of your poster. “Ben & Savanna”

Science in School

Parents are invited to view the science work of 4th & 5th Class on Thursday 11

November between 1.00pm and 2.00pm.  This work is part of the children's endeavour to procure a third Discover Primary Science Award.  So come along to see some of the exciting experiments that have been taking place in our school!

Christmas Concert
The children in both school choirs will be singing on 19 December at 19.45pm in The Ulster Folk & Transport Museum (Holywood, Belfast). Tickets are available from Ticketmaster. Concert series called “The Music Box with Peter Corry”. Hope to see some familiar faces in the audience.

Important Notice for Friday Choir Members
As the concert in the North is not so far away, rehearsals after school will be extended until 3.30pm, commencing Friday 12 November until Friday 17 December.

Christmas Fair 28th November Volunteers and Donations Needed
Do you have a few hours to spare for a good cause? 
The Christmas Fair committee are appealing to the parent body for volunteers to help out with the Christmas Fair.  Do you have 1 – 4 hours available to help?  A rota of volunteers will be done up for the day itself and also for the 27th November when the room will be set up for the big day.  This is a great opportunity for you to do something to help while at the same time getting to know other parents in the school.  Please contact Bridin @ 086 3845931 or Karen @ 087 4187253.
When can you drop off donations?
Starting from next week (Tuesday, 9th November) and every week until the Fair on Sunday, 28th November, parents will be able to drop all donations of bottles, toys, books, DVD’s, games and unwanted presents  at the school, on the following days and times:-
Tuesdays & Thursdays      Mornings     8.20am to 8.40am  
Afternoons  1.00pm to 1.20pm and 2.00pm to 2.20pm
Wednesdays                       Evenings -     7.30pm to 8.30pm
For the evening drops, a member of the Parent’s Association Committee will be at the Blanchardstown Door entrance (Junior Infant Side) to receive your generous donations.  Please ensure that all books, games and toys kindly donated are in excellent condition and working order.  Thanks in advance for your support.

D15 Cross Country Athletics League
The next race day is scheduled to take place on Tuesday the 16th of November at 11.30am in Porterstown Park. There will be two more race days in the New Year along with a special event, The Fingal Final, held in Morton Stadium in May 2011.  
The race distances are: 3rd Class: 250m, 4th Class: 350m, 5th Class: 500m and 6th Class: 600m. These distances will increase a little as the league progresses. Parents are welcome to come along and support the team.

Extra Curricular Activities
Castleknock Hurling & Football Club – Nursery
Please note that Nursery will take place in SOMERTON (Beside Castleknock Hotel & Country Club) (10am – 11.15am) due to CCC being declared unplayable.

Diswellstown Recreation & Community Centre Activities
Adult Cardio Tennis
