Parents Association Fashion Show
The Fashion Show took place on Wednesday, 13 September in Castleknock Hotel & Country Club.  Congratulations to the Parents Association for a wonderful evening and a special word of congratulations to those who ventured on stage! The amount raised was €8,200.

Green Schools
Car Free Day is next Friday, 22 September.  Please encourage your children to walk/cycle/skate to and from school that day.  Perhaps there are some parents interested in leading a Walking Bus?

Next week we hope to begin composting organic waste, ultimately for use in our School Garden.  There will be bins located around the play areas which will be used to collect organic waste e.g. apple cores, banana skins, orange peel, etc.  Please encourage your children to use the appropriate bins around the school.

Speed Limit
Please note that the legal speed limit from the main road to the school building is 5km per hour.  Persons exceeding this are putting the lives of our school children at risk.

Staff Car Park
Please note that children or parents should not cut across the staff car park when coming into school or leaving in the afternoon.  All pedestrians should follow the path and enter by the designated Pedestrian Gates only.   This request is made for the safety of your children.

Bicycles/Scooters
While we are delighted to see so many children coming to school on bicycles or scooters, they must dismount at the school gate in order to avoid accidents.  Please also ensure that bicycles/scooters are securely attached to a bicycle stand if they are being left on the school grounds.

School Garden Cake Sale
The Cake Sale, which took place on 29 June in aid of the school garden, fund raised €778.  Thanks and well done to all.  A number of cake tins, trays, etc which weren’t collected on the day, will be available for collection on Monday morning from the stage area at the back of the PE Hall.

Relationships & Sexuality Education (RSE)
An RSE Information Evening is taking place in the Dublin West Education Centre, Old Blessington Road, Tallaght on Monday 09 October from 7.30pm to 9.00pm. Numbers are limited to 40 on a first come first served basis.  There is no charge for the evening.  Please contact Dublin West Education Centre at 4528000 to book a place.

Parent Helpers
A huge thanks to all the parents who volunteered themselves as “parent helpers”.  Some of you have been contacted for current projects and no doubt we will be in touch with many others as the need arises during the year.  The list will remain on the Parent Information Notice Board until the end of September if anyone else is willing and available to help during school hours.

Extra Curricular Activities

Football Coaching
Football coaching will commence next Thursday 21 September for 3rd and 4th class children.  It will run from 2.30pm – 4.00pm.  If interested, please place your child’s name on the list on the Parent Information Notice Board inside the main door of the school.
