Choir will commence tomorrow Thursday 01 October and will take place every Thursday and not just the first Thursday of the month as per last week’s Newsletter.  Children from 2nd to 6th class are welcome to join.

Procedure for entering the school each morning

To ensure safe and orderly access to the school grounds, the gates will open at approximately 8.20am.

Parents and children walking to school must use the pedestrian gate entrance.  Parents and children cycling

should cycle along the cycle path to the main school entrance, beside the bicycle stands.

No Cycling or Scootering is permitted on school grounds.

  • The school bell rings at 08.30am. Children walk to their lines (in the early weeks of Junior Infants,
  • parents may accompany children to the classroom).
  • Classes are collected from the yard by their teacher. As soon as the classes have entered the building, and the doors are closed.
  • The Carpenterstown Door remains open until 8.50am.
  • Children who arrive after 08.50am must enter via Reception and sign the “late book”.
  • Children may not enter the school building until 08.30am.  Parents are responsible for the welfare
  • of their children until the school’s duty of care begins at 8.30 am. On wet mornings please time your arrival for 8.30 – 8.40am.

ePayment System

As you are aware, we have an ePayment System here in St Patrick's and we therefore no longer wish to accept cashThis new method allows parents to pay through a very secure system, using your ATM/Debit/Credit card. It will cancel out the need for writing cheques and sourcing exact amounts for payments, etc. It will also automatically enter the record of the payment against your child's entry on our school database. An email is sent to parents with all outstanding payments automatically listed. You will also receive an email receipt which will contain details of the transaction and a reference number. Please quote this reference number in any queries you may have as regards this payment with the school.   We are confident that the system will benefit both parents and the school in monitoring and recording payments.

Extras Fee 2015/2016

(e.g. Book Rental/Photocopying/Pupil Insurance/IT/Stationery/Visual Art)

Thank you to everyone who already paid their Extras Fee for the 2015/2016 School Year. If you have not yet paid the fee (€65 per child), an email has been sent to you with the link to our new method of payment. This is our preferred method of Payment for this and all future school payments. All payments for the 2014/2015 year must be paid before payment for 2014/2015 academic school year.

Junior Infant Parents should note that your fees for this school year were paid on return of your Acceptance Form last November.

Reminders

Junior Infants September 2016

Application Forms for Junior Infants September 2016 (Yellow Form for siblings) are available for collection from the main office from Wednesday 16 September.  Registration will take place on 12, 13 and 14 October. Please note that parents of siblings can drop their application forms into the main office at any time during 12, 13 and 14 October.  It is not necessary for you to attend the formal sessions.  Please also note that sibling applications do not require proof of residence documents e.g. utility bills.

Road Safety

A reminder that the main school avenue is still a shared access road for school and building traffic.  It is, therefore, very important that all pupils and their younger siblings are carefully supervised at all times when exiting the school.

Sick Children at School

Please do not send sick children to school for the following reasons:

  • Children are unable to cope with the demands of school when they are unwell.
  • Infection spreads rapidly in the confinement of the classroom.
  • There is no indoor supervision for sick children during breaktimes.

Head Bumps

It is school policy to inform parents if your child has a head bump of any kind during the school day.  If the teacher feels that the child is ok and does not need to be collected, you will receive a text message for your information.  If the head bump is deemed to be more serious, you will receive a telephone call from the office asking you to arrange collection of your child.
