Staff Meeting
The next Staff Meeting will take place on Monday 08 October. Children will therefore finish at 12.00pm sharp on Monday 08 October.

Dropping Off Procedures
A number of parents are stopping at the bend on the school avenue to drop their children to school and causing major traffic flow problems as a result. With this in mind, we must again draw your attention to the drop-off arrangements at the school. Please note the following:
• People may stop momentarily adjacent to the Bus parking area to drop off children.
• Please move forward as far up as possible on that stretch so that six or seven cars can drop off at the same time.
• For their safety, children should be dropped only on the school side of the road.
• Please do not stop on the roundabout.
• Please also note that parents are not permitted to park in the Staff Car Park when dropping or collecting children. If you are returning to the school to drop off forgotten lunches, schoolbags, etc., we would ask that you park in the bus stop area and enter via the Pedestrian Gate. (Please close gates after you leave).
These requests are made to ensure the safety of your child/children and we ask that you observe them at all times.

Road Safety
We are delighted to see so many children cycling to school. However, in the interest of all children's safety it is very important that cyclists are familiar with the Rules of the Road. We would also like to remind all cyclists/scooters that they must dismount at the outer school gates. This request extends to parents and younger siblings also and is made in the interest of safety. Please also note that rollerblades or Heelys are not permitted on school grounds.

Junior Infants
Now that the children have finished their first month of school and are settling in well, we ask that parents do not accompany children into the classroom. This request is made in order to minimise disruption to the class.

Visitors to the School
We were delighted to welcome Department of Education representatives and Principals from Denmark who visited our school during the week. The visit was coordinated by the Irish Department of Education. As usual, the children were well behaved and gave our visitors a "Céad Míle Fáilte". Our guests commented on how happy the children were in school.

Office Hours
There is a slight change to the Reception office hours, which are now 08.30am to 2.30pm daily. You should note that the office closes for half an hour from 12.00pm to 12.30pm.

Sponsored Walk
The annual School sponsored walk will take place on Sunday 14th October at 3pm. This event, arranged by the Parents Association, is a very important fundraising event for the school and generally a great day. The walk will be the same route as last year, starting at the Papal Cross in the Phoenix Park and walking around the American Ambassador's residence. Further details and sponsorship cards will be handed out to children over the coming week.

Tesco "Sport for Schools & Clubs"
There will be a token collection box in each classroom. We request that tokens be sent into school on Fridays only and in bundles of 50. Thank you.
