Parking
We are conscious of the fact that the following information has been repeated in numerous newsletters and we would like to thank parents who are adhering to our Dropping Off Procedures. However, it is necessary for us to appeal yet again to the parents who continue to ignore the safety measures and cause severe inconvenience to other parents, local residents and motorists and, in some cases, put the lives of our school children in danger. Therefore, we have no alternative but to repeat this request:

SAFETY PROCEDURES
PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
• PEOPLE MAY STOP MOMENTARILY ADJACENT TO THE BUS PARKING AREA TO DROP OFF CHILDREN.
• PLEASE MOVE FORWARD AS FAR UP AS POSSIBLE ON THAT STRETCH SO THAT SIX OR SEVEN CARS CAN DROP OFF AT THE SAME TIME.
• FOR THEIR SAFETY, CHILDREN SHOULD BE DROPPED ONLY ON THE SCHOOL SIDE OF THE ROAD.
• **PLEASE DO NOT STOP ON THE ROUNDABOUT**
• CHILDREN MAY NOT ENTER OR EXIT THE SCHOOL VIA THE STAFF CAR PARK ENTRANCE.
• PLEASE ALSO NOTE THAT PARENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PARK IN THE STAFF CAR PARK AT ANY TIME. IF YOU ARE RETURNING TO THE SCHOOL TO DROP OFF FORGOTTEN LUNCHES, SCHOOLBAGS, ETC., WE WOULD ASK THAT YOU PARK IN THE BUS STOP AREA AND ENTER VIA THE PEDESTRIAN GATE. (PLEASE CLOSE GATES AFTER YOU LEAVE).
• PUPILS, SIBLINGS AND PARENTS ARE REQUESTED TO DISMOUNT FROM SCOOTERS AND BICYCLES AT THE OUTER SCHOOL GATE, I.E. AT THE JUNCTION OF DISWELLSTOWN ROAD AND CARPENTERSTOWN ROAD.

THESE REQUESTS ARE MADE TO ENSURE THE SAFETY OF YOUR CHILD/CHILDREN AND WE ASK THAT THEY BE OBSERVED AT ALL TIMES.

THERE ARE DOUBLE YELLOW LINES AT THE ROUNDABOUT AT THE JUNCTION OF DISWELLSTOWN ROAD AND CARPENTERSTOWN ROAD. BY LAW NO PARKING IS PERMITTED ON DOUBLE YELLOW LINES OR ON A ROUNDABOUT. THERE IS AMPLE PARKING SPACE AVAILABLE AT SPAR. A TRAFFIC WARDEN SERVICE IS PROVIDED TO GUIDE CHILDREN SAFELY TO THE SCHOOL GROUNDS.

Road Safety Campaign
Minister Brian Lenihan launched the Road Safety Campaign for Fifth Class children in the school today. Garda Kieran Shankey and Garda Joanne Martin delivered the programme to the Fifth Class children. Congratulations to the children who won prizes for their Road Safety Posters and to all who took part in the competition.

Science Club
Today marks the launch of St Patrick's Science Club. The club will run on the second Tuesday of every month from 2.10 to 3.10pm and will be facilitated by teachers from the school, parents and scientists/engineers with different facilitators hosting the event each month. The club is limited to Fifth Class children and places have been offered today.

Original Birth and Baptismal Certificates
If an original birth certificate and baptismal certificate was submitted to the school on registration, these are now available for collection from the Main Office. Once the school has seen the original, it is only necessary for us to keep a photocopy on your child's file.

Cultural Diversity in Dublin Fingal
The Celebrate! Festival is taking place on 19 and 20 October 2007 in Blanchardstown. The Global Village will host an array of family friendly marquees featuring music, dance, drumming, theatre, cinema, storytelling, face painting, henna, hair braiding, clowns, sport, arts & crafts and food from around the world. For a full programme of events, please see www.bap.ie/celebrate_home.html.

Well done to all those who took part in this year's competition. The standard was so high that a number of merit awards were also made at each class level. Prizes, apart from the books, were kindly donated by TetraPak & Fingal County Council and are made from recycled materials. Congratulations to all!
