Halloween Mid Term Break
The school will close from 29 October to 02 November inclusive for the mid-term break. It will reopen at 08.30am on Monday 05 November.

Poster Competition - sponsored by Parents Association
The children have been invited to take part in a Poster Competition to promote the message that "cycling/scootering is unsafe on the school grounds" (this includes the Avenue from the main junction of Carpenterstown Road and Diswellstown Road). Posters will be judged on both the poster and the caption. There will be prizes for every class and the overall winner will receive a bicycle. Winning posters will be laminated and displayed on the railings outside the school.

Weekly Newsletters
If for any reason (absence, loss, etc) you do not receive a copy of the weekly newsletter, it is on display on the notice board at the entrance of the school and is also available at www.stpatricksns.ie. A number of copies will be available from the main reception area.

Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Tuesday 06 November to Friday 09 November. It will be set up in the stage area at the back of the PE hall. (Entry will be via the door to the front of the teachers' car park only). Feel free to call in at dropping off and collection times to browse through the selection available. This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping! The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help to stock the school library.

GAA
We would like to welcome our new coach, Brendan Phelan, who will be taking over from Daire O'Neill. Daire is moving on to become a member of the Garda Síochána and we wish him the very best of luck in his new career.

Parenting Made Simple

Relationships and Sexuality Education (RSE) Information Evening
The RSE Support Service is organising a parent information evening on Monday 03 December from 7.00-9.00pm in the Dublin West Education Centre, Tallaght. Places are limited to approx 40 per session. If you are interested in attending, please contact the centre directly on 4528000.

Artwork online
Check out some of the models created by children in First, Second, Third and Fourth class. Just log on to www.iamanartist.ie and click on the "Pick of the Week" in the Gallery Section. The images will be displayed for a week so don't forget to have a look.

Green Schools
New Committee: The following children were recently selected for this year's Green School Committee: First Class - Adam Meagher; Second Class: Dennis Dusmetov; Third Class: Beth Hughes; Fourth Class: Matthew Gallagher, James Watson & Sean McMahon; Fifth Class: Jessica Agnoli (tbc); Matthew Doyle. They attend their first meeting yesterday. More details after the mid-term break. Recycling of batteries, mobile phones and ink cartridges: Please send any old batteries, mobile phones and ink cartridges into school after the mid-term break for recycling. The Jack & Jill Foundation can make good use of them.

Tesco Computers for Schools Tokens
This week we took delivery of equipment for the school, which was achieved through the collection of the Tesco Computers for Schools tokens. We would like to thank everyone who collected, sent in and counted the tokens for us.

A ladies watch was found on the school grounds this morning. Please contact the Main Office.

Operation Christmas Child
The third class children will be busy filling shoeboxes over the mid term break to send to needy children in Eastern Europe and Southern Africa. If any child from any other class would like to fill a shoebox, they are welcome to do so. Please return by Thursday 08 November at the latest.

Extra Curricular Activities
Swimming
Please note there will be no Swimming Lessons on Friday 02 November.

Irish Dancing Classes
