Please note, the new bicycle parking in the staff carpark is for staff use only.

RSE (Relationship and Sexuality Education)
RSE (Relationship and Sexuality Education) lessons for 4th and 6th class will take place on the week beginning 19th April.  There will be a parent information session via Zoom on Wednesday 14th April for the parents of 4th class children and on the 15th April for parents of 6th class children at 7.30pm.  Further information and links will be sent closer to those dates.

Entry/Exit School Grounds
There are two pedestrian entrances/exits to the school grounds, one beside the Beeches estate and one at the main entrance side of the building. Under no circumstances should children ever enter or exit the school via the staff car park entrance.
In order to reduce numbers on site for safe distancing, pupils from second class upwards should not be accompanied on school grounds. This is also the case for collection times. Children can leave from either the pedestrian gate or gate at the pick up zone. Parents should choose a meeting point off site. Your full cooperation in this matter is appreciated.

Dropping in lunches, bags, homework etc.
In the current circumstances, only essential items should be dropped to the school if forgotten. As there are almost 830 pupils in the school, we ask that you please ensure all items are clearly marked with your child’s name and THE NAME OF HIS/HER class teacher as we are unable to provide pens and labels for you to label the items due to Covid restrictions.
If you are dropping in your child’s glasses, please ensure they are in an eyeglass case.

Early Collections
Due to staggered yard times, it is essential that any early collection is notified to the school prior to collection, either by email or phone call. This will speed up the collection process for everyone. Please note that children will not be called down to reception until their parent/guardian has arrived at Reception.

Nuts Allergies in School
We have a number of children throughout the school who are allergic to nuts. Some of these children have a severe allergy.  We are therefore asking that no child brings nuts or products containing nuts (e.g. Nutella, Peanut Butter, Kinder Bueno, etc) to school as part of their school lunch.  We would greatly appreciate your full cooperation in this matter.

School Wildlife Garden
Spring has sprung in our wildlife garden. Many thanks to the dedicated parent and pupil volunteers who continued to help in our gard over lockdown. For all new to St.Patrick's or for those who would like a little reminder as to what our garden is all about, please visit our school website Wildlife-Garden-Parent-info.pdf to view our recently update.

Aladdin Connect – Permissions
Permissions Requests are made throughout the year for various reasons. It is important that when Permission requests are made that they are responded to promptly by either ticking “consent” or “decline”. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Return to School Declarations
It is very important that a Declaration is completed every time your child returns after an absence. This will be available in the Attendance Tab, on the Aladdin app, from 3pm on the day of absence.

Contact Details
It is essential that we have the correct address and contact details (e.g. home telephone, parents’ mobile numbers and email addresses) for your child on our database. If any of your details have changed, please complete a Change of Address/Contact Details Form or update your Aladdin Connect App as soon as possible.

Healthy Lunch Policy
We operate a Healthy Lunch Policy in the school. Fizzy drinks, crisps, popcorn or sweets are not permitted. Please help us maintain the health of our children by following the guidelines which are available to view at www.stpatricksns.ie. Please also note that forks/knives should not be sent into school with the children.

Labelling/Lost Property
The chances of returning lost property are greatly increased if all items are clearly labelled with your child’s name. Please ensure jumpers, PE sweatshirts, coats, lunchboxes, beakers, etc, are labelled with your child’s name. You may be interested in using www.mynametags.ie which is a company who create iron-on labels and stickers.
Lost Property is located near reception, under the covered foyer.

Staff Car Park
Parents are not permitted to park in the car park at any time during the school day. The only exception is dropping or collecting disabled or injured children. We would be grateful if you could inform anyone who may be collecting your child/children on your behalf of this procedure. If you are returning to the school to drop off forgotten lunches, schoolbags, etc. during the school day, please park in the bus stop area and enter via the Pedestrian Gate. (Please close gates after you leave). Please note that children are not permitted to enter the school via the Staff Car Park. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Reminder re dismounting bicycles, etc
In the interest of everyone’s safety, all cyclists (pupils, staff, parents & siblings) should dismount from their bicycles at the main gates of the school.
For safety reasons, we would also ask that you do not allow your children to use scooters or rollerblades on school grounds. Please also ensure that your bicycle/scooter/flicker is securely locked. It might also be a good idea to put your child’s name on their scooter/flicker to reduce mix ups with similar scooters/flickers.

Extra Curricular Activities

Due to Covid Restrictions, there are no After School Activities in St Patrick's. Should the situation change, this will be communicated via the monthly Newsletter.
