Parents Association Fashion Show 2008
The members of the PA would like to say a big 'thank you' to those parents
who have agreed to model at the Fashion Show on March 12th next and to
those who have agreed to sponsor the event. The response has been fantastic
so far and we look forward to seeing a marvellous turn out in the Castleknock Hotel on the night. We now have a full complement of models but, if anyone can assist with make-up on the evening, please text Adrienne O'Sullivan on 087 2426698. We will be at the school to promote the Fashion Show on the morning of 5th March before school time, so if you haven't got your ticket yet, they are €30 each, (and are selling fast!) or if you can offer us any assistance with make-up or sponsorship, please see us on the day. This event is to raise funds to purchase 2 Interactive Whiteboards, which cost several thousand euro each. The PA is aiming to provide one for every classroom.

GAA Match
A mixture of Fourth and Fifth Class children played football against St Francis Xavier N.S. yesterday. There were two teams. Both teams played very well and did their best throughout the matches. A most enjoyable time was had by all. We hope to continue playing good football against St Francis Xavier's N.S. and other local schools for the remainder of the school year. A big thank you to all who came to support us on the day! (Brendan Kearney & Luke Doyle - 5th Class)

Lenten Campaign
Ms Parker will be travelling to Uganda this summer to work as a volunteer teacher with A-Z Children's Charity. The proceeds of our Lenten Campaign will be donated to this charity. We are organising an Easter Egg raffle in each class. Tickets will be sold for €1 each during the last week of term and the raffle will take place on Friday 14 March. If anybody would like to donate an Easter Egg to the cause, Ms Parker is delighted to accept.

World Book Day
World Book Day takes place on Thursday 06 March. All children will be getting a €1.50 on the day. Keep a look out for events and offers in local bookstores.

Extra Curricular Activities
Children from First Class upwards line up outside the Diswellstown Door at 2.10pm where the teacher hosting the activity will meet them. They should be collected promptly after the activity from the relevant line outside the Diswellstown Door by the parent/guardian. (The Diswellstown Door is the Tigers Entrance Door in the Main School Yard.) Any other pick up arrangements should be put in writing to the organiser of the Extra Curricular Activity.
Energy Saving Tip from Lisa Byrne - 4th Class
"When something is on standby, it is still wasting electricity, so if you're going to bed or leaving the house, remember to Flick the Switch"
