Soccer Blitz
“On Monday 22 September, 8 girls and 10 boys out of 5th and 6th class played in a soccer blitz. The girls got to the semi-finals. The boys lost a few matches but played well. The weather was lovely and we all had a great time. We would like to thank Mr Monaghan and Mr Waring for organising the blitz and Ms McGinley for coming along to support us”. Ailbhe & Alison – 6th Class
“Last Monday, we went to the soccer blitz. We had so much fun but, sadly, we lost all our matches. We are happy we got the chance to take part in this and we hope to have another soccer blitz in the future”. Callan – 5th Class

To coincide with National Recycling Week (Oct 6 – 12) there will be a Green Week in school. One of the activities planned for 1st – 6th Class is our 3rd Annual Model-making Competition. As in previous years entries can be completed at home or in school (teacher will discuss with children) but the models should be the children’s own work. Each entry must be accompanied by a completed Entry Form. Closing date for all entries is Monday 13 October.
1st & 2nd Class: Design and make a toy or a pencil holder from recycled materials.
3rd & 4th Class: Design and make a hat or a vehicle from recycled materials
5th & 6th Class: Design and make something that can fly or “A building/place that is special to me” from recycled materials.
Note: Children in 5th & 6th can enter in groups (max 3), if they wish, but children in all other classes must submit individual entries. All entries should be relatively small – no bigger than a shoe-box for 1st - 4th and slightly larger for 5th and 6th.

Well done to Nathan Phipps-O’Neill, Fifth Class, who appeared on TG4’s new Sunday night programme called Nollaig 1.
