Celtic Travelling Book Fair
The Book Fair will be in the school from Tuesday 11 November to Friday 14 November. Feel free to call in at dropping off and collection times to browse through the selection available. This is a great opportunity to get started on your Christmas shopping! The more books you buy, the more books the school will receive to help to stock the school library.

Parents Association Contact Box
A box has been placed in the School Reception area for parents to use, should they wish to contact the PA, or make suggestions. Please note that this is strictly for PA contact, NOT the school.

Annual Sponsored Walk
A big thank you to everyone who took part in this year’s Parents Association Annual Sponsored Walk. It was a blustery day but the children seemed to enjoy themselves. We would ask that any Sponsorship Money should be sent in to school as soon as possible. Once all monies have been received, we will advise you of the total amount raised.

Operation Christmas Child
Third – Sixth class children will be busy filling shoeboxes over the mid term break to send to needy children in Eastern Europe and Southern Africa. If any child from any other class would like to fill a shoebox, they are welcome to do so. Special Labels must be attached to the Shoebox. These are being ordered and will be distributed to the children the week after the midterm. Please do not send in any Shoeboxes before you receive the label. (See www.samaritanspurse.ie for more information).
Christmas Cards
The Parents Association are organising school Christmas Cards this year – they will be on sale at the Christmas Fair on Sunday 30 November. It is proposed to have the children design the cards and to have a design per year (Junior Infants up to 6th Class). Their picture needs to be on an A5 page (i.e. the same size as the school newsletter). Paper has been distributed by the school and the entries need to be returned by 3 November (the day of return from mid-term break). Please ensure your child’s name, class and class teacher is written clearly on the back of their entry. Extra A5 sheets of paper are available from the office.

Junior Infant Toy Chest
We are currently piloting the idea of a Toy Chest for the Junior Infant Courtyards. Perhaps you could donate some items to the chest. We are looking for small dolls and dinky cars only at this stage. Please note, only items in good condition should be donated. A collection box has been placed inside the Blanchardstown Door.

School Band
The school band rehearsals will recommence on Monday 03 November during big break. All children are reminded to bring their band instruments with them on that day.

Extra Curricular Activities
Swimming
There will be no swimming classes next Monday, 27th October, for our swimmers due to mid term break. Also, for Health and Safety reasons, parents and guardians are NOT permitted on the poolside. Your co-operation on this issue is appreciated. Thank you. Lucy & Christine.
