Best Wishes to Ms Murray & Ms McDermott's Classes  who are celebrating their First Holy Communion tomorrow.

Photographs - First Holy Communion Classes
There is a change of procedure this year with regard to the ordering of photographs. Order forms will be given to the First Communion Classes, on behalf of the school photographer, Michael Bamsey. They should be brought back to school on the 18th May for children who are making their First Holy Communion on the 16th May. The photographs will be taken 18th May.

School Year 2009/2010
31 August 2009 - School reopens for Senior Infants to Sixth Class
01 September 2009 - Junior Infants start at 10.00am.
A full School Calendar will be distributed before the end of the school year.

Jewellery
Wearing jewellery poses a safety risk at school because of the active nature of the school day. It is therefore necessary for us to request that children do not wear earrings (other than studs), necklaces, bracelets and rings in school. Watches are acceptable but we would ask that they be removed during PE classes.

Make-Up
Pupils are not permitted to wear make-up to school or to any other activity being run by the school, whether or not on school premises. This includes gel nails, false nails, fake tan and any form of eye make-up.

Confirmation Tea/Coffee Reception
There will be a tea/coffee reception in St Mochta's Parish Centre after the Confirmation Ceremony on Monday 25 May. Volunteers are needed to help. Please see separate letter distributed to all children today.

Moving House?
If you are moving house and your child will not be returning to St Patrick's in the new school year, it is vital that you make contact with the class teacher or the Main Office as soon as possible as it will be necessary for you to complete a Transfer Form. We have a large number of children on waiting lists for all classes and we would like to be able to contact these parents as soon as possible.

Contact Details
It is essential that we have the correct address and contact details (e.g. home telephone, parents' mobile numbers) for your child on our database in order for you to receive your child/children's school reports, end of year letters, etc or to make contact with you if your child should fall ill during the school day. If any of your details have changed since the beginning of the school year, please complete a Change of Address/Contact Details Form, available from the office.

Cricket Match
"On Wednesday, we went to the Phoenix Park to play a cricket match against Taney N.S. We arrived at 10.30am. The matched started at 11.00am. We batted first and scored 92 runs, with a great team effort and great scores from Aidan, Abdullah, David and Suraj. Later on we bowled - Conor, Aidan, Vicky, David, Brendan and Suray bowled very well but unfortunately our efforts were not enough. However it was a great match and we gained some good experience for our beginners. It was a great way to start a promising cricket team for the future". Suraj & Vicky - 6th Class

GAA Mini League
"Our 3rd and 4th classes have been playing GAA Mini Leagues in our school for the past three weeks. We have all been having fun and improving our skills. The final will be played between Kerry and Donegal after Kerry beat Mayo and Donegal beat Cork in the semi-finals. We are all looking forward to the final". Michael & Claire - 4th Class

"Naturally Wild" Visit
On Monday 11 May, Dale Treadwell from Naturally Wild came to visit all the First Classes in our school. He spoke to the children about the environment and brought with him some very interesting mini-beasts such as beetle, millipedes, centipedes and lots more! The children learned new and interesting facts and enjoyed Dale's visit.
"On Monday, all the First Classes got a visit from Dale Treadwell. He brought an Indian Stick Insect for us to see. We had loads of fun". Kate - 1st Class
"We had a visitor come to our class on Monday. His name was Dale. He showed us his insects. He talked about wildlife. It was great fun". Eimear & Cian - 1st Class
