Many thanks to all those who attended the National Parents Council (NPC) talk on Mental Health and Wellbeing on Monday evening in St Patrick’s NS. We hope you all benefitted from it in some way and got to know a parent or two from SPNS that you might not have meet before.

Next NPC talk - on Primary School Boards of Management - is being organized by the NPC’s NW Dublin Branch, of which SPNS is a member. 

  • Do you know that this is the last year in the current term of office, of all Primary School Boards of Management?
  • Do you know that the new termfor BOMs will commence in November 2015?
  • Do you know how Parent Nomineesare elected to the board?
  • Would you like to understand more about the election process?
  • Would you like to know more about the different rolesof the Board Members?

The talk - on Wednesday June 10th, at St Luke’s NS, Tyrrelstown, at 7.30PM (beside Educate Together NS, behind Shopping Centre, a 15 min drive from SPNS) - will give you a clear understanding of who is on the BOMwhat their role is, and how you can ensure that the right people are recruited.  To register your interest in attending this BOM talk, please Email stpatrickspa@yahoo.com.

Also of interest to you may be the upcoming NPC Conference - Building Brighter Futures – Partnership for Success on Saturday, 13th June, from 10.30 to 4PM, in the National College of Ireland, D1.  Speakers include experts in the area of education and parental involvement from Canada and Ireland.

The conference is aimed at supporting parents in becoming involved in their children’s education. Guest speakers include:
